Chris praised the work of Ipswich's Special Constables having spent an evening with two, Dean and Julie, patrolling Ipswich town centre. Chris was taking part in National Special's Weekend in order to promote the work of our volunteer police officers.

Chris joined Special Constabulary Chief Officer Martin Ashburn to see how Special Officers give of their own time to support full time police and community support officers sustain law and order in our town. Chris heard how Special Officers are now equipped to the same standard as full time officers, and whilst they valued the training they had received they would like more.
