Ipswich MP, Chris Mole, has today thrown his support behind the Government’s ‘Building Britain’s Future’ programme - a radical vision for a fairer, stronger and more prosperous society.
Under the programme, public service entitlements will for the first time be guaranteed to parents, patients and communities. New measures will also drive economic growth and create jobs.
As part of a collection of bold initiatives, from January next year, every young person under 25 will receive a guaranteed job, work experience or training place – with the obligation to accept that guaranteed offer.
There will be more homes for people across Ipswich, through a trebling of investment in housing – from the £600 million announced in the last budget to £2.1 billion today.
Furthermore a new Energy Bill will enable the Government to support up to four commercial-scale Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) schemes – creating green jobs and allowing the British economy use cleaner and greener energy.
Chris Mole MP said
"People in Ipswich want to know what the plan is for the Britain that lies ahead.
"I particularly support is guaranteeing what parents, patients and communities should get from their public services. This is about giving people more power and choice.
"When people stop me on the street, or come into my constituency office, many of them want somewhere better to live in Ipswich. The proposals contained in ‘Building Britain’s Future’ will mean more homes for the people of Ipswich.”
